SXU Cougars help run the American Red Cross Club
The Saint Xavier University American Red Cross Club run by student athletes; President, Michelle Tourtillott, Vice President, Marissa Young, and Treasurer, Alex Barone, are all members of the women's basketball team, and Secretary, DeVon Chandler, is a member of the men's basketball team. SXU Cross Country and Tack Host a Hunger Banquet
On a Wednesday evening, March 23rd, members from both the men's and women's cross country and track teams at Saint Xavier University, hosted a Hunger Banquet on campus to promote poverty awareness. Barb Roman, Lauren Dentzman, and Brandon Hummer, are also members of M.S.P.J. (Mercy Students for Peace and Justice). Saint Xavier Women's Basketball Volunteers at Ronald McDonald House
The Saint Xavier Women's Basketball team volunteered at the Ronald McDonald House in Oak Lawn on a Sunday morning during their season. They planned a breakfast for the visitors and bought enough groceries to feed 30-35 people and cooked at the house for the children and families that were staying. Read More
Members of SXU Women's Basketball Host Weekly Event at PADS
Every Tuesday, members of the Saint Xavier women's basketball team, host "Movie Tuesday" at Southwest Chicago PADS (Public Action to Deliver Shelter). Brittany Jones, Marissa Young, and Michelle Tourtillott are in a class called God and Social Action. One of their assignments is to participate in community service projects throughout the semester.
