Evergreen Park Girl Scouts Invade SXU for Basketball Outing
The Saint Xavier University women's basketball team had some new fans to help cheer them on at their Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) opener Saturday against Roosevelt University (Ill.). Evergreen Park Girl Scout troops attended the game, all wearing specially made red T-shirts and brought hand-made signs to show their support for the Cougars. The SXU players displayed teamwork and leadership throughout the game and were examples of role models for the girls to look up to as strong, motivated and dedicated women. Read More
Cougars on the Right Track at St. Angela
Saint Xavier Women's Track Team joined forces with the Sisters of Mercy at St. Angela by forming a track program for the students to participate in after school. During the Spring, the track team designs practices that are held at St. Angela that teach proper form, and different tactics with running track meets. Other members of Saint Xavier teams go and help out as well including players from the men's basketball team and men's soccer team. Read More
Saint Xavier Men's Soccer Team Volunteers at Mission Outreach
The Saint Xavier Men's soccer team volunteered to help out at Hospital Sisters Mission Outreach on March 31st. Jordan Hamrick, a player on the team, presented his coach with the idea after he had volunteered there earlier in the year. The team went to the warehouse in the southwest Chicago area, where they helped sort medical equipment into different categories to get ready for shipping. Read More
